Featured will be works by senior and emerging Western Australian artists including
Jody Broun-winner of the 1998 Telstra National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Award and the 2005 Canberra Art Prize, Jody has exhibited to critical acclaim throughout Australia, as well as in Europe, Asia and America
Shane Pickett - Shane has exhibited in every state and territory in Australia and Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts recently held a highly successful 30-year retrospective of his work. He has been successful in numerous major art prizes including the Telstra National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Award.
Pauline Moran - selected as a finalist in the 2002 and 2003 Telstra National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Award, she has exhibited her work throughout Australia in major state and commercial galleries, as well as internationally in Japan and the United States
Ngarra-aged in his 80s, Ngarra is without peer in his knowledge of law and country. He has been selected as a finalist in many of Australia’s most prestigious art prizes, including the 2000, 2002 and 2005 Telstra Art Award, the Conrad Jupiters Art Prize .the Canberra Art Prize and the 2006 Bankwest Contemporary Art Prize. His work has been exhibited across Australia and internationally, and is held in a number of major collections
Gilgi -Gilgi’s work has been shown at the Canberra Contemporary Art Space Art Award and the 2006 Alice Prize, and has been selected to hang in the 2006 Telstra NATSIAA award
and Lucy Ward and Loongkoonan who will also be exhibiting their work in Birajakoo, at the Depot Gallery II, Waterloo, from Monday 19 June to Saturday 1 July, 2006 will be present at the ArtSydney opening.
Also exhibiting will be Peggy Wassi ,
Kitpi, Peter Zappa . Along with these artists, Indigenart will also be exhibiting works by selected artists from Papunya Tula Artists and Injalak Arts and Crafts, NT.
