Kambarang Treasures: Shane Pickett
Shane Pickett

For three decades Shane Pickett has been at the forefront of Nyoongar painting. His powerful gestural abstractions have forged a new direction in Indigenous art, helping to create a distinctive new vision of the ancient landscape of the south-west.

To coincide with his inclusion in both the 2009 Telstra National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Awards and the WA Indigenous Art Awards, Mossenson Galleries is proud to present Pickett’s first major WA solo exhibition since his acclaimed 2007 showing for the Perth International Arts Festival.

Indigenart- Mossenson Galleries are privileged to have His Honour Wayne Martin, Chief Justice of Western Australia, formally open Shane Pickett's exhibition on Wednesday 5 August 2009 at 6.30pm (6-8pm).
